On Monday, March 23 2024 AD to coincide with 12 Ramadan 1445 H at the Grand Rohan Hotel Yogyakarta, the Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BK) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Ahmad Dahlan University held Incubation and Opportunity Identification activities Research from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). This activity presented speakers from BRIN, namely AM Saifullah Aldeia, M.Pd. Apart from that, this activity was attended by all lecturers at the BK FKIP UAD study program.

Irvan Budhi Handaka, M.Pd., as Head of the BK FKIP UAD Study Program (Kaprodi) opened this activity by starting with a speech from the Head of Study Program. He expressed his gratitude for the willingness of the lecturers of the UAD FKIP BK Study Program to attend this event, so that this event could be held successfully and smoothly. He added that this activity aims to identify research opportunities that can be explored by lecturers at the UAD FKIP BK Study Program in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Currently, UAD FKIP BK Study Program lecturers still rely on UAD internal research grants and from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). This is the first step for UAD FKIP BK Study Program Lecturers in expanding their wings in carrying out research or research which can now submit research proposals to the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

This activity was continued by AM Saifullah Aldeia, M.Pd., as the resource person for this activity. He explained the research schemes that can be taken by UAD FKIP BK Study Program lecturers in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Of course, the research schemes presented are related to the science of guidance and counseling. Not only that, he also added about the proposal input mechanism, research implementation, and the research reporting process carried out through the BRIN scheme.

He explained the various experiences carried out by the resource persons in carrying out research through BRIN very clearly and in detail. So the UAD FKIP BK Study Program lecturers are interested in being able to send research proposals through the BRIN scheme. This is proven by the enthusiasm of the UAD FKIP BK Study Program lecturers in question and answer forums and discussions regarding BRIN research. At the end of his presentation, AM Saifullah Aldeia, M.Pd., added that researchers at BRIN are open to working together, collaborating in implementing research carried out through schemes at BRIN.

This activity went very conducively and ended with breaking the fast with the extended family of the UAD FKIP BK Study Program.

On Monday, 19 February 2024 AD to coincide with 9 Sha’ban 1445 AH, the Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BK) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Ahmad Dahlan University held a meeting with students. The meeting was called “Fun Talk Preparing for the Even Semester of the Academic Year (T.A. 2023/2024)”. The aim of this activity is to provide students with preparation for taking all lectures in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Present at this activity were the Head of the BK FKIP UAD Study Program (Kaprodi), Irvan Budhi Handaka, M.Pd., along with the Secretary of the BK FKIP UAD Study Program (Sekprodi), Dr. Muya Barida, M.Pd. as leader and performer of the event. Around 200 students attended the meeting from semesters 2, 4, 6, to semester 8.

The Head of the BK Study Program said that learning strategies are important for students in studying, apart from that he conveyed tips for students to be able to graduate on time, one of which is by taking courses in the upper semester. The courses that can be taken in the upper semester are of course regulated in the BK Study Program curriculum which has been stated in the UAD Chancellor’s Decree (SK) No. 340 of 2020 concerning the UAD FKIP BK Study Program Curriculum. Apart from that, he also conveyed the elective courses that will be taken by semester 4 students. There are 3 concentrations in the elective courses that students can take. These concentrations are Guidance and Counseling in Family Settings, Guidance and Counseling in Special Needs Children (ABK) Settings, and Guidance and Counseling in Crisis Settings (Addiction and Disaster). Students are free to choose a scientific concentration that suits each student’s passion.

The Secretary of the BK Study Program added that students can always communicate intensively with the Academic Supervisor (DPA) to determine and implement the targets to be achieved in taking their studies. Apart from that, he added, for 8th semester students, they are asked to actively contact the Final Assignment Supervisor in order to facilitate students’ timely studies at the UAD FKIP BK Study Program.

The Student Final Task Force Team (Tetas Team) was also present at this activity. They explained about the preparations for semester 6 students to be able to take the BK Seminar course. In the BK Seminar course, students will prepare a final assignment proposal, which will later be presented in a seminar as a form of student readiness in completing the final assignment. Apart from that, they also said that 8th semester students must remain focused in completing their final assignments, so that they can graduate before 4 years or on time.

On Friday, 20 October 2023 AD to coincide with 5 Rabiul Akhir 1445 AH, the Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BK) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Ahmad Dahlan University held a meeting with the guardians of the class of 2023 students. The meeting was called ” “Greetings to the Guardians of the 2023 Class of BK FKIP UAD Study Program.” The aim of this activity is to introduce the UAD FKIP BK Study Program, and the systematic role of guardians in the student learning process at the UAD FKIP BK Study Program.

Present at this activity were the Head of the BK FKIP UAD Study Program (Kaprodi), Irvan Budhi Handaka, M.Pd., along with the Secretary of the BK FKIP UAD Study Program (Sekprodi), Dr. Muya Barida, M.Pd., as leader and performer at this activity. Apart from that, Agus Ria Kumara, M.Pd, as class A teacher, Dr. Cara Putra Bhakti, M.Pd., as class B homeroom teacher, Rohmatus Naini, M.Pd., as class C homeroom teacher, and Arif Budi Prasetya, M.Pd., as class D homeroom teacher. More than 100 student parents attended the meeting This is to receive material and discussions related to the role of guardians in the student lecture process.

The activity was opened and led by the Head of the UAD FKIP BK Study Program, and then he explained the profile of the UAD FKIP BK Study Program. Apart from that, he conveyed the role of student guardians in the student learning process, including guardian monitoring of the student learning process. This monitoring can be accessed via the UAD Academic Portal using a guardian account.

After that there is an introduction session for the Guardian Lecturer or Academic Supervisor (DPA) for each class. Each DPA explained the DPA mechanism in accompanying students during the lecture process at the UAD FKIP BK Study Program.

The Secretary of the BK Study Program at the end of the session added that, the UAD FKIP BK Study Program made every effort to guide students in the learning process at the UAD FKIP BK Study Program. Not only on the academic side, but also on the religious side, this will be implemented through the Al Islam and Muhammadiyah (AIK) courses at UAD.

This activity ended with a discussion and question and answer session by student guardians with the Head of Study Program, Study Program Secretary, and DPA per class to explain the mechanism of the guardian’s role in the student lecture process at the UAD FKIP BK Study Program.
