UAD BK Students together with UAD Volleyball UKM Win 1st Place in Volleyball at UNISA Yogyakarta Cup 1

The Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) Volleyball Team succeeded in recording new history by winning first place in the UNISA Yogyakarta Cup which took place on 6-10 November 2023. The tournament, which was participated in by national private universities, presented a fierce match, where UAD managed to beat resistance from Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS) in the final match which took place on the field of the integrated campus of Aisyiyah University in Yogyakarta on Friday, 10 November 2023.

On their way to winning the title, the UAD Volleyball team which was strengthened by students from the Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BK) showed superior performance. First, they managed to overcome the team from Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) in the preliminary round with a landslide score of 3-0. Second, in the semifinal match, UAD faced a team from the Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo (UMPO) and won again with a score of 3-0.

The top match, which was the final match against UMS, was a memorable match for the UAD Volleyball team. Even though they were faced with tough competition, BK UAD students still showed high fighting spirit. The final result of the final match was 3-2, ensuring that the first place title belonged to UAD.

Apart from teamwork in playing, this success was also supported by contributions from BK UAD students who took part in the team. Cindy Fitriadita (2020), Indah Octaviana (2019), Milinia Indah Saputri (2019), and Trishala Ayu Ningrum (2023).

Cindy Fitriadita, as the team representative, expressed her pride in an interview via WhatsApp on November 23 2023. She expressed her joy at the results achieved by her team. “Of course I feel proud and happy with this achievement. The training we underwent has produced results in line with expectations,” said Cindy.

Cindy also did not forget to convey her hopes for the future of the UAD Volleyball team. “I hope that the achievements we have achieved will motivate the team to be more intensive and enthusiastic in training. The aim is to prepare for other prestigious events and maintain consistency in winning,” he added.
