Train Teachers to Be Able to Compile Guidance and Counseling Action Research Proposals

(28/08/2019) Lecturer of Guidance and Counseling, Faculty of Education and Education, Ahmad Dahlan University held a Community Service Program (PPM) with the theme Enhancing the Ability of Guidance and Counseling Teachers in Preparing a Research Proporal for Guidance and Counseling Action. Program participants are guidance and counseling teachers at Muhammadiyah Middle Schools (SMP / SMA / SMK) in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. The number of participants who attended was 28 participants.

This program is designed because of the initiation due to the teacher’s problem that the teacher only pursues research reports, but does not necessarily design or plan research (proportional) from the start of the problem. This program was initiated by guidance and counseling lecturers. The speakers for this program are Agus Supriyanto, M.Pd., Agungbudiprabowo, M.Pd., and Drs. Purwadi, M.Si., Ph.D. This program is also assisted by the Head of the Professional Teacher Education Study Program, Ahmad Dahlah University, namely Dr. Sri Hartini, M.Pd. Implementation of the program in August 2019 for 1 month.

The material for this program includes knowledge and understanding of the basic concepts of Guidance and Counseling Action Research or abbreviated as PTBK. Then proceed with the material of Improving the Ability to Compose Introduction from problem identification, formulating problems, research objectives, knowing research variables, compiling background problems, and research benefits. The next stage, the teacher learns to compile a theoretical study with the help of Google Scholar as a reference. Then the teacher learns to compile research methods and research instruments as a basis for self-development. Finally, the teacher studies and compiles scientific publications in the form of scientific ideas from proposals. The results that have been compiled have been presented by the teacher as self-evaluation. This program impacts the ability of teachers to be able to design guidance and counseling action research proposals and applications in schools.

Peace Guidance and Counseling at Hein Namotemo University

(Tuesday, 24/09/2019) Lecturer of Study Program Guidance and Counseling, Faculty of Teaching and Education, Ahmad Dahlan University held Community Service activities through a public lecture at Hein Namotemo University, North Maluku. This activity is part of the dissemination of research funds from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. The public lecturer was Agus Supriyanto, M.Pd. and accompanied by Hardi Prasetiawan, M.Pd. Community service activities were carried out on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Hein Namotemo University Seminar Room. Public lecture participants are all Guidance and Counseling Students and Lecturers, Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences, Hein Namotemo University.

The theme of the service activity is Peace Guidance and Counseling. This theme was raised because of the widespread behavior of aggression that emerged in Indonesia during the Presidential General Election. Aggressive behavior that appears in various forms, namely verbal, physical, anger, or hate. The peace guidance and counseling model is applied through classical and group peace guidance mechanisms, as well as individual and group counseling. The public lecture also implements peace counseling activities and is evaluated with students and lecturers of guidance and counseling at Hein Namotemo University.

The Importance of Family Resilience to Individual Personal Formation

(7/2/2020) Study Program Guidance and Counseling FKIP UAD represented by Amien Wahyudi, M.Pd. Organizing community service that is carried out in the village hall of the Cowelo Kidul hamlet, Candirejo Village, Semanu District, Gunung Kidul Regency. This activity was held in conjunction with the UAD Student Community Service Program in the village, which was attended by 30 women from Gebang, Cuwelu Kidul and Soka hamlets. The high level of problems that occur in the family makes the family vulnerable to emotional problems. Seeing this phenomenon, lecturers of UAD BK study program held a counseling activity with the theme Family Resilience. It is hoped that with this theme, the public, especially mothers, will know how important family resilience is to the formation of individual personalities because research shows that low resilience families are prone to making individuals experience emotional disorders such as anxiety, low self-esteem and even acts of aggression.

Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction in the Opak River Fault, Jogotirto, Berbah, Sleman

(20/12/20) Lecturers of the BK Study Program, FKIP, UAD carry out Community Service Program (PPM) activities which are carried out by methods of counseling, workshops, mentoring, independent assignments, and simulations. Activities are carried out online and face-to-face, given the Covid-19 pandemic. This community service program involves administrators of the Muhammadiyah branch of Berbah Sleman District and the village of Jogotirto Berbah Sleman.

Given the Covid-19 pandemic, on the recommendation of the Jogotirto Urban Village, the activities that were attended by representatives of the Jogotirto Youth Organization were carried out online and face-to-face by following health protocols. The material presented includes basic disaster management, introduction to earthquake disaster risk reduction, training in disaster risk assessment practical skills, and so on. This Community Service Program is supported by the Muhammadiyah Branch Leader (PCM) Berbah and the Jogotirto Berbah District Headquarters, Sleman.

One of the main indicators of the success of this community service program is the emergence of a new understanding of the concept of community-based disaster risk reduction. In addition, an action plan for a community was compiled to be more responsive to the occurrence of an earthquake due to a shift in the Opak fault in Jogotirto Sub-district, Kapanewon Berbah, Sleman Regency.

Leadership and Professionalism Training for Akademi Kebidanan Mulia Madani Students

(31/12/2020) Lecturers of the Study Program Guidance and Counseling Universitas Ahmad Dahlan carry out community service in the form of basic leadership training in the Akademi Kebidanan Mulia Madani Yogyakarta for the Academic Year 2020/2021. This activity was carried out at the Akademi Kebidanan Mulia Madani in Yogyakarta. This activity was attended by 35 students who are members of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Akademi Kebidanan Mulia Madani. Leadership skills are basic skills that need to be possessed in organizations. On this occasion, Ulfa Danni Rosada, M.Pd. as a lecturer representative for the guidance and counseling study program provided material with the theme “Leadership Mental Health”. It is hoped that from these activities students will have a clearer understanding of several leadership styles and evaluate themselves to identify the type of leadership each student has. The training also emphasized that a leader needs to have mental health by being a leader with character, high integrity, upholding morals and norms that apply in society and having responsibility.

Celebrating 37th Anniversary, UAD Study Program Guidance and Counseling Holds National Achievement Motivation Training

BK UAD (27/03/2021) – The Ahmad Dahlan University (BK UAD) Study Program Guidance and Counseling held a National Achievement Motivation Training (AMT) with the theme of Graduating High School Where to Go? The activity, which is a series of events on the 37th Anniversary of the BK UAD Study Program, was held on (27/03/2021) through the Zoom Meeting virtual room and broadcast live on the Prodibkuad YouTube channel. The presenters who were presented were Dr. Dody Hartanto, M.Pd. as Deputy Dean of FKIP UAD and lecturer at UAD BK Study Program.

Achievement Motivation Training Nasional was held to assist students in determining their next steps after graduating from high school. Some possibilities that students can choose after graduating are registering ASN / PNS, registering TNI / Polri, working, opening a business, or continuing college.

“Identify the major you will choose, consult with parents, and see the track record of the graduates,” said Dr. Dody Hartanto, M.Pd., when explaining the tricks of choosing a university and study program. He also reminded us to choose study programs that have good job opportunities in the future.

Teaching Campus: BK UAD Students Are Ready to Serve

BK UAD (13/03/2021) – As many as 37 students of the Study Program Guidance and Counseling have passed the Teaching Campus Program for grade I in 2021. The teaching campus is one part of teaching activities in schools in the independent campus program. Teaching campuses are implemented as a form of learning solution during a pandemic. This program is devoted to Elementary Schools in 3T areas (Frontier, Remote, and Disadvantaged). Students are expected to be able to strengthen literacy and numerization learning and become partners in making innovations in learning.

UAD BK Study Program, fully supports Lecturers and Students in this prestigious event. One of the supports was by holding an internal level socialization on 18/02/2021 through the Zoom Meeting. This program received a warm welcome from students as seen in the large number of socialization participants totaling 234 students.

The Enthusiasm of the Teaching Campus activities was also felt by the Guidance and Counseling Lecturers. Evidenced by 10 Congratulations to serve the lecturers and students of the Guidance and Counseling study program who have passed. Congratulations on contributing as an agent of change for Indonesian education.

Kondisi stunting bisa dicegah dengan menerapkan pola hidup sehat di 1000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan (HPK). Itu disosialisasikan Tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dari Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) dan Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat (FKM) yang didukung oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta, dalam workshop remaja tangguh bergizi untuk mencegah stunting kepada remaja dan pendamping Bina Keluarga Remaja (BKR) Padukuhan Garon, Desa Panggungharjo, Bantul, Sabtu (14/11) dan Minggu (15/11).

Tim diketuai oleh Dr. Dody Hartanto, M.Pd, bersama Ratu Matahari, S.KM., M.A., M.Kes, dan Desi Nurfita, S.KM., M.Kes(Epid).

Dody menuturkan, Kegiatan workshop ini dilakukan dengan memberikan edukasi terkait kesehatan reproduksi remaja dan pentingnya menjaga asupan gizi dalam mempersiapkan 1000 HPK, masalah gizi dan penyakit-penyakit pada remaja, dan tantangan menjadi generasi millennial yang tangguh.

“Peserta diajak untuk menganalisis masalah dengan pendekatan studi kasus, agar dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan serta ketrampilan remaja dalam mempersiapkan 1000 HPK,” ujarnya.

Menurut Dody, remaja merupakan fase kritis dalam siklus kehidupan manusia karena adanya perubahan fisik, psikologis, dan juga lingkungan sosial. Maka perlu mendapatkan perhatian khusus untuk menjaga kualitas pemenuhan gizi supaya terwujud SDM yang berkualitas.

Sementara itu, Ratu menyampaikan, remaja sebagai individu yang dinamis dan didukung kelembagaan pemuda berpotensi menjadi motor penggerak perubahan perilaku remaja dalam memenuhi kebutuhan gizi yang baik.

“Khususnya bagi remaja putri dalam mempersiapkan kehamilan, persalinan, dan nifas, hingga memenuhi kebutuhan gizi bayi secara optimal,” ungkapnya.

Selanjutnya, Desi menjelaskan, masih kuatnya stereotype masyarakat kita bahwa cantik itu harus kurus, membuat banyak remaja yang melakukan diet tanpa advice tenaga kesehatan.

“Ini menimbulkan resiko terjadinya anemia, kurangnya energinkronik (KEK), dan overweight, hingga penyakit lain seperti Diabetes dan Penyakit Jantung Koroner (PJK),” terangnya.

Kepala Padukuhan Garon Rosada mengharapkan kegiatan ini bisa menjadi langkah awal untuk bersinergi menguatkan peran remaja dalam mempersiapkan 1000 HPK.

“Hasilnya bisa dirasakan dalam jangka panjang terhadap perbaikan kualitas peradaban suatu bangsa. Ke depan dapat ditindaklanjuti dengan kegiatan-kegiatan serupa dengan sasaran yang berbeda,” jelasnya.

Ditambahkan, Prevalensi angka stunting atau balita pendek menurut tinggi badan dan usia di DIY adalah sebesar 14,36. Ini berdasarkan profil kesehatan DIY tahun 2016. Angka ini turun menjadi 13,86 pada tahun 2017.

Namun, prevalensi angka balita pendek atau stunting di Provinsi DIY masih tergolong cukup tinggi jika dibandingkan dengan Riskesdas tahun 2013 8,2 persen.

Disebutkan, salah satu kabupaten di DIY yang menjadi kabupaten atau kota prioritas intervensi stunting adalah Bantul. (Subiyantoro)

Mahasiswa Prodi BK UAD Mengikuti UAD International Event 2019

27-30 November 2019, Biro Kemahasiswaan dan Alumni (BIMAWA) bekerja sama dengan Kantor Urusan Internasional (KUI) Universitas Ahmad Dahlan mengadakan serangkaian acara bergengsi, diantaranya adalah International Event, International Camp dan Seminar Internasional. BIMAWA mengadakan beberapa lomba yaitu lomba menyanyi, lomba melukis, lomba fotografi dan pameran Internasional. Acara ini diikuti oleh 30 mahasiswa asing dari 10 negara yaitu dari Bangladesh, Belgia, China, Hungaria, Laos, Madagaskar, Malaysia, Palestina, Vietnam, Thailand. Selain itu, acara ini juga diikuti oleh mahasiswa dari 15 Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah (PTMA) terpilih dari seluruh Indonesia.

Rangkaian kegiatan diawali pada tanggal 27 November 2019 di Ruang Amphitarium kampus 4 UAD dengan International Singing Competition. UAD diwakili oleh 4 mahasiswa, salah satunya mahasiswa semester 3 Prodi BK UAD yaitu Aqiqoh Sukma yang membawakan lagu berjudul “Halo” yang dipopulerkan oleh Beyonce. Dalam kegiatan tersebut, Aqiqoh Sukma berhasil mendapatkan penghargaan sebagai “Best Improvisation”.

29-30 November 2019 dilaksanakan International Conference dan dilanjutkan dengan International Camp. International Conference dengan tema “International Seminar on Cross Cultural Understanding : Developing Human Resources to Face the Industrial Revolution 4.0” diselenggarakan di Ruang Amphitarium Kampus 4 UAD. Kegiatan ini menghadirkan 5 nasumber yaitu Ida Puspita (Indonesia) selaku ketua KUI UAD, Ahmed AO Shbair (Palestina), Dori Kriss (Hungaria), Chen Yan (China), dan Ahmad Niaquib Tenang Bin Salim (Malaysia). International Conference berakhir pukul 11.50 dan dilanjutkan dengan International Camp yang diselenggarakan di Kaki Langit, Mangunan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Dalam Camp tersebut, peserta diberikan pelatihan membuat “Wedang Uwuh”, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dengan tema culture shock, Awarding dan diakhiri dengan city tour di Hutan Pinus Imogiri. (AS)

ASEAN University Youth Summit 2019: Menuju Mahasiswa BK UAD Yang Berwawasan Internasional

Sabtu-Selasa, 24-27 Agustus 2019 telah diselenggarakan ASEAN University Youth Summit (AUYS) 2019. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk menunjukan peran aktif mahasiswa di ASEAN dalam menghadapi tantangan yang sedang dihadapi generasi sekarang ini. Dimana hal ini sesuai dengan tema yang diangkat dalam acara tersebut yaitu “social media generation: unleashing youth potential”.

Program AUYS 2019 kali ini diselenggarakan di Universiti Utara Malaysia, Sintok, Kedah, Malaysia, tepatnya di Hotel EDC UUM yang masih di area Kampus tersebut. Program ini diikuti oleh negera-negara di ASEAN seperti Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Kamboja, Myanmar, Vietnam, Singapura, Brunai Darussalam, dan Laos. Dari Indonesia sendiri selain Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, juga diikuti oleh beberapa universitas ternama seperti Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Bengkulu, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta dan masih ada beberapa lagi. dari UAD mengirimkan delegasi sebanyak 12 Mahasiswa dari berbagai jurusan salah satunya Bimbingan dan Konseling yang mendelegasikan 2 mahasiswa yaitu atas nama Bayu Selo Aji dan Emilia Nurpitasari.

Kegiatan ini dibuka secara resmi pada tanggal 25 Agustus 2019 oleh Yang Amat Berhormat Dato ‘Seri Haji Mukhriz bin Mahathir, Ketua Menteri Kedah. Beliau menyampaikan bahwa program AUYS ini telah diselenggarakan di beberapa negara ASEAN secara bergantian, dimana tahun lalu diselenggarakan di negara Thailand. Dengan adanya program ini diharapkan dapat semakin mempererat rasa persaudaraan anatar negara ASEAN dalam menjalin kerjasama diberbagai bidang. Selanjutnya beliau berpesan setelah mengikuti acara tersebut, para pemuda ASEAN yang mengikuti kegiatan tersebut menjadi pendobrak perubahan dalam pemanfaatan media sosial di negaranya masing-masing.

Acara inti  pada kegiatan ini dibagi menjadi tiga bagian yaitu Roundtable Discussion (RTD), Program Community Engagement ASEAN (ACEP) dan ASEAN Cultural Festival & Gala Dinner. Program Roundtable Discussion (RTD) dilaksanakan dengan melibatkan semua peserta. Tetapi sebelumnya peserta akan dibagi menjadi kelompok-kelompok kecil untuk membahas masalah-masalah generasi media sosial. dalam diskusi meja bundar ini terdapat 23 kelompok dimana didalamnya terdapat 10 anggota yang berasal dari berbagai negara. Alhamdulillah salah satu mahsiswa BK UAD yang merupakan peserta di acara tersebut atas nama Bayu Selo Aji bersama timnya mendapatkan penghargaan berupa Best Groub Discussion. Kemudian pada tanggal 26 Agustus 2019 pagi diselenggarakan program ASEAN Community Engagement Programme (ACEP) yang diselenggarakan di Kota Siputeh, Kodiang. Dalam kegiatan ini peserta terjun langsung kelapangan untuk membersihkan salah satu sungai disana. Selain itu juga diadakan trash challenge dimana setiap tim berlomba mengumpulkan sampah sebanyak-banyaknya.  Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan ASEAN Cultural Festival (ACF) & Gala Dinner pukul 20:00. Setiap Peserta dipersilakan untuk mengenakan Pakaian Nasional / Tradisional resmi dari negara masing-masing. acara ini adalah kesempatan bagus untuk menjalin relasi, membangun persahabatan, dan berteman dengan delegasi dan tamu dari seluruh negara di Asia Tenggara sekaligus menutup program ASEAN University Youth Summit pada tahun ini.  (bsa)(enp)
