Ahmad Dahlan University Guidance and Counseling (BK UAD) launched its 39th anniversary logo at the BK UAD Laboratory. The launch of the logo was a commemoration of the anniversary of the BK UAD Study Program. The Head of Study Program (Kaprodi), Lecturers, and Staff also celebrated the anniversary and the launch of the 39th Anniversary Logo of BK UAD. The 39th anniversary of BK UAD carries the theme “Enhancing The Competence of Enlightened School Counselor in The 21st Century”.

“Today is a special day for the big family of BK UAD. Hopefully, the 39th anniversary will be more successful, much better than previous years. Proud to be Counselor! I am proud!”, said Irvan Budhi Handaka, M.Pd., Head of the BK Study Program at UAD.

The agenda for the 39th anniversary of UAD’s counseling study program was very diverse. Several competitions, trainings, seminars, and social activities made the anniversary celebration more lively. The competitions included the Reels and Tiktok competitions and the Kaprodi Cup. There are training activities such as Tahsinul Quran Training, Sign Language, Public Speaking, Peer Counseling, SEFT, Psychological First Aid, and a Family Counseling Workshop. There were also social activities such as Sharing Takjil and Visits to Social Institutions. The National Seminar and Family Gathering closed all series of events for the 39th Anniversary of the BK Study Program in August 2023.

Alhamdulillah, the academic community of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) received several awards in the Andalan Awards event organized by the Bureau of Student Affairs and Alumni of Ahmad Dahlan University (BIMAWA) on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

Some of the awards achieved are 1st place for the Best Study Program for Involvement in BIMAWA Seminars and Training (Category 1), 3rd place in the Tracer Study Based on Response Rate of Graduates in 2021, 2nd place for the Best Supervisor of Student Entrepreneurship (Caraka Putra Bhakti, M. Pd.), 3rd place in the Selection of Outstanding Students at the University Level in 2022 (Nuri Cholidah Hanum), 1st place in the Best Organizational Report (HMPS BK UAD), 3rd place in the Best Organizational Proposal (HMPS BK UAD), and 5th place in the Best Organizational Work Program Realization (HMPS BK UAD).

Indonesia Counseling Competition 2023 is an event for students to develop the achievements of a prospective counselor or guidance and counseling teacher. ICC was held with the theme “Optimizing the Development of Science and Technology in Creating Adaptive, Innovative, and Collaborative Counselors,” which was held on February 13–14, 2023, and was attended by various guidance and counseling study programs from both state universities and private universities ranging from Lampung, Sulawesi, East Java, Central Java, DIY, and West Java. Students and female students who have creativity, courage, desire, and hope for achievement gather at ICC competencies.

The competition held a scientific article and guidance and counseling media competition, which aims to prepare participants to become counselors and guidance and counseling teachers who have creativity, are adaptive, and are innovative. This competition also presents several professional judges, both internal and external, to assess the work of the participants. According to one of the ICC committees, “Participants who take part in the competition are very enthusiastic to compete in the competition; they really expect to become champions in this competition”.

The committee also said that hopefully this competition could provide benefits for participants to develop themselves and congratulated the participants who won at this competition. Hopefully the participants who take part in the Indonesia Counseling Competition are expected not to stop until this event alone to develop themselves as future counselors and guidance and counseling teachers.

Alhamdulillah, the book “Introduction to Psychology” by Dra. Alif Muarifah, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D. (Lecturer in Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD)) has been published. This book is published by PT. Remaja Rosdakarya, is available in several bookstores, and can be ordered online.
